For over 40 years, fracking has been safely carried out in the Northern Territory of Australia. It boasts one of the largest supplies of natural gas in the world, making it a hotspot for LNG Exploration. Over the next few years, a gas exploration company in Australia will proceed with The Origin Beetaloo Exploration Project. It’s a multi-million dollar project designed to unearth more sustainable natural energy sources while stimulating the economy.
Half The Emissions of Coal LNG contributes around half the emissions of coal. As a consequence, it’s one of the cleanest energy sources on the planet. With Australia looking to commit to a greener future, this exploration project will look to use natural gas as a replacement for much of the coal that’s used in electricity generation. Aside from having lower carbon emissions, gas also adapts better to both wind and solar power, making it a great energy source for the future. Stimulating The Economy The Origin Beetaloo Exploration Project aims to stimulate the economy and produce over 900 jobs in the Northern Territory. Millions of dollars have already been invested in local contracts, and there’s a move to finance skills training and mentoring amongst many of the workers. Alongside this, when the product moves into production, it can help create energy security, leading to lower energy costs throughout the country. It’s an exciting proposition, and this project can have a significant impact across Australia and Asia if it moves to production. Forecasts predict it can deliver long-term economic, social, and environmental benefits for the Northern Territory and beyond.

Fracking is certainly something that has a bad name for it all over the world. Part of this might be to do with the fact that many fracking companies have acted in poor or reprehensible ways. Of course, that does not necessarily mean that all fracking companies do that, and it is always a good idea to keep an open mind when it comes to this type of exploration work. At its simplest, what is commonly referred to as fracking is really just a means of trying to explore an area for the gas reserves it may have. As long as it is done in a way which is non-harmful to the environment, the people and animals of the local and global space, then there should be nothing wrong with it.
In particular, fracking in the Beetaloo basin region of the Northern Territory could be helpful in a number of ways. For instance, it might help to create jobs in the Northern Territory, something that a lot of people would be glad for, and which in turn would help to push the economy into greater heights as well. In terms of how Beetaloo fracking will change daily life in the region, most people will probably be unaffected, and those who will have greater opportunities than previously. Despite the negativity associated with fracking, if it is carried out ethically and responsibly, it could be helpful for the Beetaloo basin region of Northern Territory, and for much else of Australia as well. |
